 HouseHero Home Maintenance Subscription Program

Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: 04/02/2026

1. Program Overview

HouseHero provides a residential, subscription-based home maintenance service designed to simplify routine upkeep through scheduled preventative care.

Services may include:

  • HVAC Filter Replacement

  • Dryer Vent Cleaning

  • Water Softener Salt Delivery & Refill*

  • Smoke Alarm Battery Replacement (up to 9’ ceilings)

  • Central Vacuum Maintenance

  • Trash Receptacle Cleaning (weather permitting)

  • General home system checks

Services are performed periodically throughout the year based on system needs, seasonal timing, and neighborhood routing.

This program is preventative maintenance only and is not a warranty, insurance policy, or repair service. HouseHero does not guarantee system performance or failure prevention.

All services and materials are bundled within the subscription and are not offered as standalone retail services.

2. Plans & Neighborhood Launch Pricing

HouseHero offers tiered monthly subscription plans:

Core Plan – $49/month + applicable sales tax

Home Systems Plan – $69/month (Most Popular) + applicable sales tax
✔ Everything in Core
✔ Water Softener Salt Service
✔ Central Vacuum Maintenance

Premium Plan – $89/month + applicable sales tax
✔ Everything in Home Systems
✔ Trash Bin Cleaning (3x/year)
✔ Priority Scheduling
✔ One Additional Annual Service Visit
✔ Preferred Pricing on Upgrades

Neighborhood launch promotions may be offered on a limited, first-come basis.

3. Billing & Payments

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance

  • Payment is automatically charged to the method on file

  • A valid payment method is required at all times

  • Services may be paused or canceled for failed payments

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled per the cancellation policy.

4. Service Scheduling

Services are scheduled by HouseHero based on:

  • Seasonal service requirements

  • System maintenance intervals

  • Neighborhood routing efficiency

Typical service frequency may include:

  • HVAC filters: up to 3 times/year

  • Dryer vent cleaning: up to 2 times/year

  • Smoke alarm batteries: 1 time/year

  • Water softener service: approx. every 2 months

  • Central vacuum service: up to 3 times/year

Customers will receive advance notification prior to service visits.

5. Neighborhood Service Windows

HouseHero operates using neighborhood-based routing.

  • Services are scheduled within service windows, not exact appointment times

  • Scheduling flexibility is required to maintain efficiency and pricing

If access is not available during the scheduled window:

👉 The visit may be considered completed for that service cycle
👉 Missed visits do not qualify for refunds or credits

6. Consumables & Materials

Subscriptions include reasonable annual quantities of consumables:

  • Up to 3 HVAC filters per system/year

  • Up to 20 smoke alarm batteries/year

  • Up to 12 bags of water softener salt/year

Water Softener Salt Service

Water softener salt delivery and replenishment is included in the Home Systems Plan and Premium Plan as part of the HouseHero subscription program.

Included Quantity

Each participating home includes:

  • Up to twelve (12) bags of water softener salt per calendar year

  • Typically delivered and replenished during scheduled bi-monthly service visits (approximately two (2) bags per visit)

Bulk Delivery & On-Site Storage

To improve service efficiency and reduce delivery frequency, HouseHero may:

  • Deliver multiple bags of salt at a single visit (e.g., 4–12 bags)

  • Store salt on-site in a garage, utility area, or other agreed-upon location

By enrolling in the program, the customer agrees to allow reasonable on-site storage of salt for future service use.

Additional Usage (Overage Charges)

Homes requiring salt beyond the included twelve (12) bags per year will be billed as follows:

  • Additional salt: $8.00 per bag + applicable sales tax

HouseHero will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer when additional usage is identified.

HVAC Filters

  • Our Standard: filter is a MERV-8 pleated filters for the main unit. To include Return Air filters add $10/per month for two + applicable sales tax

  • Premium upgrades available for Merv 13 filters +10/month + applicable sales tax

Additional Systems

  • Each additional HVAC system: +$10/month + applicable sales tax

  • 4” media filters: +$5/month per system + applicable sales tax

Non-standard systems or excessive usage may require pricing adjustments.

7. Subscriber Responsibilities

Subscribers agree to:

  • Provide safe access to all service areas

  • Secure pets during service visits

  • Maintain clear access to systems

  • Notify HouseHero of system changes

Subscribers authorize HouseHero technicians to access the property as needed to perform services.

8. Cancellations

  • Subscriptions may be canceled anytime with 7 days’ notice before billing

  • Services already scheduled may still be completed

Promotional offers or discounted installations may require a minimum term. Early cancellation may result in prorated adjustments.

Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing cycle begins.

9. Service Limitations

The program does NOT include:

  • Repairs

  • Equipment replacement

  • Emergency services

  • HVAC, plumbing, or electrical repair work

If issues are identified, recommendations may be provided.

10. Service Area

HouseHero currently serves:

  • Boise

  • Meridian

  • Eagle

  • Nampa

  • Caldwell

  • Star

  • Middleton

  • Surrounding areas

Availability depends on neighborhood rollout and routing.

11. Limitation of Liability

HouseHero performs services professionally and with reasonable care.

HouseHero is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing system conditions

  • Manufacturer defects

  • Improper installations by others

  • Normal wear and tear

Maximum liability is limited to the total amount paid in the previous 12 months.

12. Pricing Adjustments

Standard pricing may change over time.

Customers enrolled in Founders or Launch pricing retain their rate as long as their subscription remains active and in good standing.

13. Program Changes

HouseHero may update services, pricing, or terms at any time.

Customers will be notified of significant changes.

14. Termination of Service

HouseHero may terminate service for:

  • Non-payment

  • Unsafe conditions

  • Repeated missed access

  • Abuse or harassment

15. Force Majeure

HouseHero is not responsible for delays due to:

  • Weather

  • Natural disasters

  • Supply shortages

  • Government restrictions

  • Other uncontrollable events

16. Communication Consent

By enrolling, you agree to receive:

  • Service notifications

  • Scheduling updates

  • Promotional messages (email/SMS)

You may opt out of promotional messages at any time.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho.

18. Agreement

By enrolling in HouseHero, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
